Crystal System: Hexagonal

Formation: This is a rather interesting mineral that forms when lead ore oxidizes providing the beautiful red color and small prismatic crystals common for vanadinite.

Properties: Nothing outstanding other than a very nice specimen for collectors as see at left from a specimen of vanadinite that has grown intertwinned with tabular crystals of barite.
