Crystal System: Tetragonal

Rare faceted wulfenite gemstone

Formation: In hydrothermal vents around ore deposits

Properties: Most notable is the tabular crystal structure as seen in photo #3 below. These flat tabular structures are classic shapes for wulfenite crystals. Also forms in the other prismatic shapes as shown in photo at top and below. It is very soft (3) so is more for collectors than jewelry use.
