 Source: Mostly from the beaches of Florida where lightening strikes more than any place on earth.

Chemical: SiO (silicon from beach sand)

Crystal System: None

Formation: Forms when lightening strikes the sand of the beach fusing the sand into a tube of natural glass. After thunderstorms on the Florida coasts beach combers find fulgurite in the sands.

Properties: Tube formations and fused glass
